Why Renovating Campion Matters
For over 30 years, the James W. Campion III Rink has been a hub for ice activities, connecting families from 25 Upper Valley communities and beyond. However, the rink's crucial operating systems are nearing the end of their serviceable lives. We urgently need new refrigeration, dehumidification, and waste heat recovery systems to ensure energy efficiency and sustainability well into mid-century.
Additionally, the rink desperately requires:
1) Upgraded locker and restroom facilities to separate boys/men from girls/women and make these facilities available to field sports teams during non-ice time. WE DID THIS IN PHASE 1
2) A concrete floor, rather than sand, for better energy efficiency and higher quality ice. WE NEED TO DO THIS IN PHASE 2
3) Roof structure and building improvements that meet updated safety codes and ADA requirements. WE DID THIS IN PHASE 1
4) A new multi-purpose room for classes and events. WE DID THIS IN PHASE 1
